So glad it's nap time right now! Ella was testing me at every turn today. I know as a toddler she is and will continue to test those boundries, especially since I am the one home with her (and for that I am grateful). Let's recap, shall we??
First she decided she wanted to keep that very wet diaper that smelled so strongly after she slept in it for twelve hours. Imagine for a moment, if you would, a small person locking there body so it is resembling all the characteristics of a 2x4 and then rolling and twisting in every direction while I struggle to hang on to her extremely small feet. Now repeat for the poopy diaper an hour later.
On to breakfast.....while I am very fortunate that my daughter is a very good eater, she does have a habit of trying to feed the dog. (mind you, we have a toy poodle that weighs 7 pounds, he does not get scraps as they make him sick) She will hear his little toenails clicking on the kitchen floor and knowing he is on his way throw scraps over the side of her high chair. Now I know this is common children feeding the dog. Its the way she does it, I will see her arm extend over the side and tell her "we do not feed the dog" to which she will put the food back on her tray and watch me with that really sweet look on her face. Thats when I have to turn around for one thing or another and then I hear the food hit the floor. Repeat for lunch and snack time.
On to playtime.... One of the things I enjoy so much is to be able to play with Ella all day, every day. Today however she really didn't want to play, or even read books. No, she wanted to pull the cords out of the TV and touch the screen. I am pretty sure I will be removing the TV until thats not quite so much fun, or putting up a fence in my living room.
All that being said and all the other little ways she is testing things (me) today, I am so lucky to have a happy little girl, who rarely cries, and smiles all the time. Days like today just remind me so much that she is her own person and as her mommy, I'm responsible for helping her stay that way.
