So I was at the store today, not so different from any other day really, except my husband, Nick was with Ella and me. EVERY TIME he comes with we spend more than planned. I go armed with my little list of a few regular items and he decides he would like to get some candy (so cruel, I'm trying to eat healthy), a pizza, and randomly enough some Silk Almond Milk. I ask "Aaaand you want that because?" He responds with "You know real milk upsets my stomach and yours is pretty much water anyway and I don't like water. Especially for my cereal." All I have to say is "Oh OK." because what I am really thinking will just get me no where, really fast. Like how he will only use it for cereal and not actually drink it like milk.
Now keep in mind we do not have any cereal at the house he will eat because not one of them contains artificial fruit flavoring, marshmallows or a sugar coating. Yes, my husband needs a cartoon character on the box, preferably the ones with a small leprechaun or anyone from Bedrock. I decided not to remind him of this fact because I didn't want to stand there while he picked one out. Plus if he is eating it, Ella will want it and right now she does really well eating those cereals that are good for her and don't have a friendly animated face on the front. I want to keep it that way. Otherwise me eating healthy for the sake of being a good role model is out the window. Then I would just have to eat healthy because it's good for me. I like to pretend that I am that selfless and it's all to better the life of my child. (small sigh)
Even with all that, I like when he comes with. Hey, if he likes the stuff, great. If he will eat it with our good for you cereals, even better.
At least he can still surprise me. Cheers!
That sounds like us shopping!
