The magic of Disney movies never gets old for me. "Tangled" is on for what is probably the thousandth time in the last month and it still cracks me up. For those of you who haven't seen it, it's actually really funny. Even my husband laughs and he does not willing watch animated movies. Disney films aren't always that funny, sure there are some exceptions; "Aladdin", "The Lion King", anything that was a Disney Pixar film. However mostly Disney movies are some form of tragedy followed by a happily ever after ending. More recently however Disney films have thrown a few more chuckles into the mix.
Speaking of "Tangled" it is actually Disney's version of Rapunzel, the girl that is kidnapped, locked in a tower and has REALLY long hair. I think my favorite line in the whole movie is made by Flynn Rider, "Frying pans, who knew, right?" To understand that quote and to really find it humorous you will have to watch the film. It's so much better in the film.
Another really good one is "The Princess and the Frog" it is a more recent Disney film which is also very funny. It tells you the story of what happens to a frog prince when he doesn't kiss an actual princess. It's a little bit of a case of mistaken identity, a lot of voodoo and its set in New Orleans and the surrounding bayous. Watch out for Ray, the firefly, and his accent. It is great.
Something else that you get in most Disney films is the music. "The Princess and the Frog" has great songs as does "Tangled". It certainly gets Ella's attention and she will immediately start dancing. That is just another reason I love them so much, when they start singing she gets so excited and shakes that little diapered butt. I should really just get the soundtracks, hey, now I'm thinking!
There is just something about Disney films that reminds us of being a kid. You get sucked into the story and the animation, it captures your attention. There is always a life lesson learned. They tell you to believe in your dreams. Maybe that is why Disney movies have that special magic. Not only are they telling you to believe in your dreams, they remind you to have dreams and wishes in the first place.
