Every woman should be able to look her best without having to spend hours in the bathroom. So I have a few make up tips that I like to use every day that are still very natural looking. They take just a few minutes with your everyday make up routine. Of course, the time every woman puts into her make up varies. They can be added to the most basic make up application or one for a night out.
First, every woman should own white eyeliner. The reason is not to use it on the upper lid but to line the inside of your lower lid. Not only will your eyes look bigger after you do this, they will also look brighter, whiter and awake. Yes, this trick will actually make you look like you aren't as tired you really are. While black eyeliner is very dramatic, it makes your eyes smaller when applied to the inner lower lid. If you like to have black on the bottom, but want the brighter, bigger look white eyeliner delivers, put the black eyeliner in your lower lash line instead. I wear white eyeliner on my inner lower lid every day. It takes 30 seconds, but I am never told I look tired. Try it out and you be the judge. You can get white eyeliner at most places that sell cosmetics. I found a white pencil for ninety-seven cents by the brand NYC. It works just fine, it doesn't need to be the most expensive, unless you are sensitive to make up.
Tip number two is to apply your bronzer just under your jaw line. Why? It will help the appearance of your jaw line and make it more defined, double chins any one??? This will help, especially in photos. Be sure to not go overboard and make sure to blend, this is a subtle fix, not surgery. Just load up your blush brush, tilt your chin up and just sweep the brush back and forth a few times along the entire jaw bone.
Continuing with tricks with your bronzer, you want to have a little color and make your nose look a little smaller? Apply a little bronzer on the sides of your nose and a quick dust over the top of your nose without re-loading the brush. If you want to blend it out over to your cheeks and give them a little color go ahead, I do it every day.
Lastly use blush as a contour for under your cheek bones and a highlighter on the top of your cheek bone. I like a shimmery light pink for a highlighter and it should work well on most skin tones. With the blush, get a small amount on your brush and apply under your cheek bone, curving it up slightly as you get closer to the hairline. Now with the highlighter start just below the outer corner of your eye and gently brush on the highlighter working your way toward the apple of your cheek. (I like to use my fingers for the highlighter.) If you smile, you will see you are applying it to the part of the cheek that fills out and lifts up. If you don't like to use pinks, a very light gold, or creamy color will also work as a highlighter, the main thing is it should barely be a shade lighter than your skin tone. The point is that by applying make up a little darker than your skin, you will make the area recede (your nose, double chin and below the cheek bone). The highlighter being slightly lighter than your skin will make that area more prominent. The combination of the two will give you some killer looking cheek bones. (Although not to the extent of Cruella DeVil, I promise.)
As with all make up application techniques they take practice before you will be comfortable and efficient with them. They sound a little more intimidating than they really are. I really hope every one tries the white eyeliner, it will amaze you.
